It is not clearly explained why months with the letter 'r' in their name are considered the best for organizing a wedding. One belief says that 'r' stands for family, so a wedding in a month containing this letter will bring luck in expanding the family. Of course the facts speak for themselves: most weddings are held in June, August and September, so in the summer months with the magical 'r'. If that superstition appeals to you, August is an ideal month for getting married.

August is of course a summer month, but the heat is not as oppressive as in June or July. This is another reason to organize a wedding in this month.
